Eight plays led to OSU, says future Beaver

IT WASN'T MUCH of a contest, when St. Louis High rolled to a lopsided win in Honolulu's Aloha Stadium last month. But eight plays early in that game took on added significance a few weeks later, says the newest Beaver. Those eight snaps, he says, played a huge role in him netting the Oregon State offer that he verbally accepted this past weekend.

"I think it was due to the Damien game," said Na'Alii Robins (6-3, 242) on why he received the Beaver offer in the first place.

St. Louis blew out Damien 66-0 in Week 5. And Robins lined up for only a handful of snaps as the game quickly turned into a rout.

But he put on quite the show.

"I was only on the field for eight plays. But I think I made about six tackles. They were all sacks and tackles for loss," said Robins.

Robins, who has a quick first step, could line up at defensive end for OSU or he might develop into a d-tackle. Regardless of what position he mans in Corvallis, Robins said he's set with the Beavers and his recruiting process is finished.

"And I want to thank the Oregon State staff, my family, the coaches from St. Louis and the players on my team," said Robins.
