ROUNDUP: Handicapping White, Moreland & more

TORIAN WHITE WOULD be a big get for the Beavs but he's seemed pretty resolute on sticking with UCLA in recent articles over the last few weeks. One Los Angeles area beat writer today, however, thinks he's going black and orange. And talk about potentially big gets, 4-star OLB Devon Moreland certainly fits that bill.

Scott Wolf, who covers USC for the Daily News, says Torian White is in the USC orbit, too. But his prediction today, based on the most recent "buzz", is that Torian White signs with Oregon State.

White would be a big splash for the Beavs, the 6-6, 280-pounder has been a highly sought prospect this recruiting season and would give the o-line recruiting this class a serious boost.

Rudolf Fifita has long been rumored as heading to OSU. The JUCO defensive end has not returned calls over the past several days but the Portland Tribune yesterday said he was in fact verbally committed and would sign with the Beavs on Wednesday.

In 2010, he had 33 tackles with nine for loss, six sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one interception, six QB hurries and a pass block.

Fifita is 6-4, 260 and has three to play two at the next level. He graduated from high school back in 2005, went on a 2-year Mormon mission, and grayshirted at Mt. San Antonio before playing the past two years.

Devon Moreland out of Bishop Mora High Salesian High in Los Angeles is also looking hard at the Beavs according to the newspaper. Moreland is a longtime SMU commit.

He's also a potentially huge get, and a member of the 300.

Moreland is rated 4-stars, the No. 20 OLB prospect in the nation and ranked No. 293 regardless of position by Scout.

Moreland originally chose SMU over offers from USC, UCLA, Texas A&M,Washington, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon and more. If the Beavs were able to pull this one off, there would be a lot of smiles in and around Corvallis.

Other possibles in the mix include DT Todd Peat, (another potential big get who is expected to sign with ASU), defensive end Juda Parker, (who is said to be leaning heavily towards Colorado) and Rahmel Dockery (who is deciding between OSU and WSU).
