Akeem Gonzales in the end chose Oregon State over Washington, ASU and several others, and then Washington again.
ESPN reported earlier this afternoon Gonzales said Washington came back and offered this past week. According to Gonzales, the Huskies were his leader earlier this year but then pulled their offer, saying he took too long to commit. But Gonzales says they came back to the table in recent days, said his offer was on the table and wanted to get him up on an official visit this past weekend to Seattle.
Gonzales said the renewed UW offer gave him pause, but in the end he decided not to skip his wrestling tournament to make the official visit and to stick with his first choice, saying, "I'm happy with Oregon State and I know I picked a great school."
The 6-4, 250 Bishop Alemany High product's cousin is Beaver RB Malcolm Marable, and Gonzales told Scout.com a few weeks ago the Beavs like him at defensive end.
He is rated by Scout.com as an offensive tackle prospect -- three stars and No. 63 in the nation at that position.
