COMMIT: Beavs land 6-5 DE/ATH who can fly

YOU DON'T SEE a lot of cornerbacks move to defensive end – and excel doing it. And you don't see a lot of defensive ends who run a 4.35 in the 40. But there's a prospect for whom that applies, he's nicknamed "The Freak" by his teammates, and he is headed to Oregon State.

d'Vante Henry out of Southmoore High in Moore, Okla. will sign with Oregon State on Wednesday, The Oklahoman reported. He logged 65 tackles, five sacks, three forced fumbles and an interception in 2010.

Henry has size and speed – two things recruiters love -- but a redshirt season would certainly seem in order so he can put on some mass before mixing it up in Pac-12 play.

He checks in at a reported 6-foot-5 and 192 pounds.

Still, that speed and that frame…

Henry ran the anchor leg of last year's Southmoore 400-meter relay team that won the state championship. His 40 time has been clocked at 4.35.

"The phones have been blowing up about him in the last couple months," says his prep coach.
