Seumalo's Big Three

ISAAC SEUMALO, the 6-foot-3, 282-pound four-star offensive lineman/guard prospect from Corvallis, Ore. is the son of Joe Seumalo, defensive line coach for Oregon State. "My dad coaches there and I've always loved them," Seumalo said about the Beavers. The Ducks and the Huskies, however, have offered and are making their play for the highly ranked Seumalo.

Oregon State is in Andrew Seumalo's backyard as he lives only a half-mile from the campus. "I love all the coaches there," he said. "I especially like the offensive line coach (Mike Cavanaugh). He's a great guy.

"Coach Mike Riley is great too," he said about the Beavers' head coach. "He treats all the players well and he's one of the nicest and kindest people you'll meet."

The Beavers were Seumalo's first offer last summer. He says he also has offers from Montana, Oregon and Washington. He will be attending the Washington Junior Day on Feb. 27.

"I camped at U-Dub last year and really liked it," he said. "It's a very competitive program and the team is coming up."

Last season Seumalo attended the Washington/Oregon game at Oregon. "It was great," he said about the game day experience. "It's a fun place. I like coach Chip Kelly a lot. He's a great guy to be around."

Seumalo denies a leader and says he hasn't started focusing on recruiting yet. "I haven't even really thought much about it," he admitted. "I'll go through the whole process and make sure to take all my trips."

Although he says he plans on going to a few camps during the summer, he isn't sure which ones yet. "I'll try to get to a bunch of Pac-10 camps," he said.

"I want to be around good coaches and where I get along with them," he said. "I need to make sure I've got a good bond with everyone."

"I have good footwork…that's what coaches tell me," Seumalohe said. "I'm athletic and move well.

"But I need to hit the weight room hard and bulk up and get stronger," he said. "I also want to improve my technique."

Seumalo is a good student and reports a 3.9 core GPA and 1100 two-part SAT.
