Air Attack to Head North

Air Attack Football, the premier skill camp in the northwest, will head up I-5 to Lake Washington High School in May.

For the first time since the camps inception, the Oregon-based camp will travel to another state to offer high school and college football players around the northwest an opportunity to sharpen their football skills.

Camps will be held for the skill positions and for the first time, the lineman.

For $125, players will attend three straight Saturday sessions (May 10, 17 and 24th), where they will be taught position techniques and SAQ (Speed, Agility and Quickness) exercises that they can take with them and work on at home.

Several current Pac-10 players, including Oregon's Kellen Clemens and Oregon State's Ryan Gunderson, have attended the camps for years.

Greg Barton, the founder of the Air Attack football camps, heads up the quarterbacking and skills part of the camp. Barton brings his vast experience as a quarterback in the NFL and CFL to the table.

Barton's son, Taylor Chris Budke, who quarterbacked at the University of Colorado and the University of Washington, also helps with the quarterbacks.

Budke is the quarterback coach at Central Catholic High School (Portland, Oregon), who developed Michael Harrington (Idaho) and Ryan Gunderson (OSU).

The lineman are going to get phenomenal help as well. This is the first year Air Attack has opened up their doors to the big guys, and to help them they brought in two highly respected regional coaches.

Ron Simonson, former Head Coach at Puget Sound and Northern Colorado, was also an assistant at Oregon State University and the CFL's Winnipeg Blue Bombers. During his stint in Corvallis, Simonson served as the Beavers recruiting coordinator

Ray Baker is the former Head Coach at Clackamas High School and former assistant coach at Southern Oregon University and Portland State University. Both Simonson and Baker bring over 50 years in the business to the field as players, coaches and administrators.
