Impressive Beavs score high in APR

OREGON STATE FOOTBALL was second in the Pac-12 in the APR (Academic Progress Rate) numbers officially released today, with a four year rolling average of 959. The Beavs were also third in the conference in single year numbers, posting a 965 for 2009-10.

The football program under Mike Riley has made an impressive, significant academic climb in recent years.

Three years ago, the Beavs score in the four year rolling average was 926, one point above the 925 threshold for which penalties are possible. The following year it was 930. Now it's second best in the Pac-12 conference, at 959.

OSU placed 14 on the Pac-10 All-Academic Football Teams this past year, the second most players in the conference.

Oregon State also earned the best overall APR in the six-year history of the APR metric, with a score of 968.
