Beavs offer Northwest TE

THE TIGHT END spot is a position of need in this recruiting class for Oregon State. Caleb Smith out of Kent, WA picked up a pair of new offers this past week and one of them was from the Beavs.

Kentridge High tight end Caleb Smith doubled his offer list in just the past week.

"Oregon State and UNLV both offered me this week," said Smith.

Smith already held offers from Idaho and Washington State, bringing his total up to four.

Both programs stopped by Kentridge to find out more about the talented prospect and apparently came away impressed.

"Coach Langsdorf stopped by my school this week," said Smith. "After, he told me that I had an offer and that I should call Coach Riley to talk about it.

"UNLV also came by my school last week," said Smith. "After they visited they called and told me I had an offer."

Smith has seen both of the new programs first hand. He participated in the Badger Elite 7on7 this spring at UNLV and attended the Nike Camp at Oregon State last summer.

Smith is hearing from some other Pac-12 programs and feels like they could pull the trigger on an offer sometime soon.

"Colorado, Oregon and Washington are the other schools that I am hearing from right now," said Smith.
