Beavs begin Super Regional play on Friday

OREGON STATE TAKES on Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tenn. on Friday at 5 p.m. PT. The game, the opener of the best-of-three-series, will be televised on ESPNU.

OSU then meets Vanderbilt on Saturday at 6 pm. That game is set for broadcast on ESPN2.

A Sunday game, if necessary, is scheduled for Sunday with the time to be determined.

Vanderbilt(50-10) will be a tough opponent for Oregon State (41-17). The sixth overall seed in the tourney, they had 11 players drafted during the first two days of the MLB Draft. Eight of them were pitchers.

Meanwhile, OSU's ERA heading into the Super Regional is 2.93, down nearly a run and a half from last season's 4.19. OSU's bullpen alone has improved dramatically, posting a 2.65 ERA, down from 4.08 a year ago.
