Arroyo Grande (Calif.) quarterback Brent Vanderveen will be playing in the Pac-12, making his decision on Tuesday.
"I committed to Oregon State," Vanderveen said.
Vanderveen let head coach Mike Riley know of his decision.
"I told Coach Riley," said Vanderveen. "He was really excited."
Vanderveen said everything about Oregon State impressed him.
"Everything about them made them the pick," said Vanderveen. "I really liked the coaching staff. And they're a great football program moving in the right direction."
Vanderveen might not be the only Arroyo Grande prospect in this class.
Seth Jacobs and Garrett Weinreich also hold OSU offers, with Vanderveen is the first to commit.
Vanderveen was 103-for-198 for 1,402 yards with 11 touchdown passes against five interceptions as a junior.
He also ran for 581 yards and six touchdowns and led Arroyo Grande to the 2010 CIF-SS Northern Division Semifinals.
Academically, Vanderveen also excels. He has a 4.0 and scored a 1300 on the SAT.
