Poyer named Pac-12 ST Player of the Week

OREGON STATE junior Jordan Poyer was selected the Pac-12 Conference Special Teams Player of the Week and the College Football Performance Awards punt returner of the week following his performance against UCLA.

Jordan Poyer, a junior from Astoria, returned a punt 85 yards for a touchdown in last Saturday's game vs. UCLA, the second-longest punt return in OSU history.

Poyer now ranks second in the nation for punt return average yards at 25.3 hashes per runback.

CFPA, in addition to tabbing Poyer this week, also named senior punter Johnny Hekker honorable mention after he averaged 53 yards on three kicks, including a long of 62 yards.

Oregon State returns to action this Saturday at No. 25 Arizona State (Associated Press). The game will air live on FSN Arizona and Fox College Sports beginning at 7:30 p.m.
