Beavs add Nevada, Weber State to schedule

OREGON STATE HASN'T had much luck in the win-loss column when scheduling marquee non-conference games. And the trend in college football is to go the other way, with easier match-ups -- and at home. OSU recently announced two additions to future schedules that should please fans of the latter mindset.

Say hello to Nevada and Weber State.

Nevada burst through last season, with a Top 15 ranking and and a 13-1 record. But that was the exception and as has been the case over much of the last decade, they look more beatable this season, having fallen to 1-2 and with Top-5 Boise State up next. Weber State, of course, plays in the FCS' Big Sky Conference.

Weber State will travel to Reser Stadium for the 2015 season opener, tentatively set for Sept. 5.

The two-game series with Nevada begins Sept. 16, 2017 in Corvallis and concludes Sept. 15, 2018 in Reno. The 2017 and '18 seasons also include non-conference games with Minnesota. This week, the Beavers play at Arizona State (TV: FSN Arizona and Fox College Sports, 7:30 p.m.)
