Junior to watch - Saleh Gamoudi

TheInsiders.com spoke with Saleh Gamoudi, a 6-3, 293-pound lineman from Tigard, Oregon, and while Washington certainly has their share of top prep linemen for the recruiting class of 2004, Gamoudi headlines an equally impressive group of Oregon linemen.

"I'm aggressive," Gamoudi said. "I run block well. I'm learning how to pass block better."

One thing comes across as abundantly clear when speaking with Saleh - he's got the nasty you like to see with interior linemen. He plays both ways for Tigard, but loves offense.

"I just love kicking some guy's butt all night long," he said. "It's great that we can do it without getting in trouble.

"I'm loud, aggressive and mean."

Gamoudi earned all-league honors as an offensive lineman and was his team's offensive line MVP. He runs a 5.19 40, 4.75 shuttle, benches 375 pounds and squats 480.

Interest from colleges is coming on strong. Portland State has been hot on Saleh's trail, and appear to be very close to offering him. BYU, Oregon State, Washington State and Washington are the others that have been showing Gamoudi the 'love'.

He'll be camping at Oregon and Washington State this year, as well as his team's camp, with an outside possibility of attending Oregon State's camp if time allows.

And if that offer from the Vikings comes? "Well, I'm not totally sure but it would be awfully hard to let an early scholarship offer from a top school slip by," Gamoudi said.
