There hasn't been any school out West even close to as aggressive in offering early scholarships this year as Oregon State. Talented linebacker Josh Stephens from West Bakersfield (Calif.) is the latest player to receive an offer from the Beavers.
"Along with Oregon State, Sacramento State also offered," West Bakersfield head coach Rich Cornford said. "Those are his first two offers but more should be on the way."
Stephens, 6-0, 210 pounds will be a four year starter and was his League Def. Player of the year last season after totaling 132 tackles. He was also named 1st team All-State Underclass for his efforts. The lineabcker had a solid showing at the NorCal Nike camp running a 4.68 in the 40, 4.13 in the shuttle and jumped 28 inches in the vertical.
