OSU Olympic sports on TV changing in big way

WHEN WAS THE last time you remember an Oregon State volleyball match being televised live? Precisely. In 2012, however, 13 live Beav volleyball telecasts will be available on the new Pac-12 Network.

Last year, no OSU volleyball matches were televised live.

The Oregon State volleyball team has appeared on television but four times total in the past five seasons.

"The entire Pac-12 was on delayed TV a total of 11 times in 2011. We (Oregon State) will be on live TV 13 times in 2012 and the entire Pac-12 nearly 90 times," Oregon State volleyball head coach Terry Liskevych said in an OSU release. "This provides great regional and national exposure to our program and the nation's best volleyball conference. As we all know, a big key to help market and gain exposure for the sport are television broadcasts."

Seven of the Beavers' 13 television dates will be home matches.

The Pac-12 Networks launch August 15 and will consist of one national and six regional networks devoted solely to the Pac-12. In addition to the hundreds of live televised Pac-12 sporting events, Pac-12 Networks subscribers will have access to their carrier's TV Everywhere platform, providing access to all Pac-12 Networks programming on any device through their broadband service.
