VERBAL: Cali 3-star WR goes black and orange

WIDE RECEIVER Victor Bolden out of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. is as explosive a wide receiver as you'll find, says He's also headed to Oregon State after verbally committing to the Beavers on Friday..

Victor Bolden is Corvallis-bound, he told BF.C.

"Yes sir, I just committed," Bolden texted.

The Los Osos High product is not a big target, he checks in at 5-9, 160. But few receivers the West over are as explosive as Bolden, says's Brandon Huffman.

"I liked their offense and I loved the tradition Coach (Mike) Riley and staff have built out there," Bolden told's Annabel Stephan.

Bolden has a great first move and has clocked a legit 4.46 in the 40.

He chose Oregon State over offers from Utah, Hawaii and others.

BOLDEN, IN A later conversation with BF.C, said that the Oregon State coaches envision him filling a role in the slot of a recent BeavGreat.

"They said they see me as a James Rodgers-type player," said Bolden. "They like me lining up in the slot, doing reverses and going up against linebackers -- creating mismatches all over the field.

"I like what they do with their receivers, they've had success with their smaller receivers."

Bolden also said they envision him as a potential all-purpose yardage machine, just like Rodgers was at OSU.

"Oh yes, they said they like me returning punts and kicks," said Bolden.

BOLDEN SAID HE'LL be taking an unofficial visit to Oregon State the first week of August.

He said he's also already working on Jordan Villamin, a 6-4 wide receiver out of Etiwanda High, recruiting him to come join Oregon State's 2013 class. Villamin picked up an Oregon State offer earlier this spring.
