Beavers Intrigued by Jackson

Quinton Jackson is a 6-0, 165-pound QB/WR from Renton, Washington, and whether he's throwing the ball or catching it he's always a threat to take it the distance. Jackson, despite playing for a smaller school, is getting interest from big-time colleges. And this fall will go a long way toward determining what position will be in his future.

"A lot depends on what happens this year," Quintin told "I was probably better at receiver before, but I'm getting bigger and stronger. I've been lifting and staying in shape this summer." Jackson was all Seamount-League QB as a junior.

"I've never run a 40 time before," he said. "But my best 100 meters is 10.9. It's my speed and my playmaking ability that helps me be a good football player. I can make things happen." His current max bench is 225 pounds and power clean is 185.

When it comes to recruiting, the process has just begun for Quinton. He plans on maximizing all the opportunities that come his way. "A lot of Pac-10 schools have been looking at me," he said. "Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State, Idaho, Idaho State, Nevada, Penn State, Montana and Eastern Washington have all be sending me letters. Washington, Oregon State and Montana are probably recruiting me the hardest but I would love to go to places like Texas, Miami, Florida and Florida State.

I'm open to visiting any campus. I want to go through the whole recruiting proces."
