OSU opened with a 14-9 start but a 12-0 run had Beaver fans thinking, 'Here we go again.' But the Beavs clawed back and although Roberto Nelson wasn't filling up the basket in the first 20 minutes, Joe Burton and his variety of hook shots were a good substitute.
Burton scored 10 points and pulled down 10 boards in the win.
Eric Moreland drilled a trey towards the end of the first half and only heated up from then on. Moreland also recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Roberto Nelson added 15 points, all in the second half, as Oregon State snapped a five-game losing streak.
After intermission, Oregon State held Colorado to 39.3 percent from the floor, including 1-of-7 from beyond the arc. Colorado was 6-of-21 from three-point land for the day and was outscored 34-26 in the paint.
Oregon State made 51.9 percent of its field goals on the afternoon, including 4-of-7 from long-range. It was the first-ever win in Boulder for the Beavers (14-17, 4-14 Pac-12).
The two teams won't have to wait long for a rematch -- Oregon State will face off against Colorado on Wednesday in the opening round of the Pac-12 Tournament on Wednesday. Tip-off is 2:30 p.m.
