Beavs climb in polls, metrics

OREGON STATE climbed in the baseball polls after the road series win over Oregon this past weekend. The Beavs also made a move in the RPI released on Tuesday and seem all but certain to host a regional as the regular season enters its final week.

Oregon State climbed to No. 3 in the USA Today baseball poll released on Monday, and up to No. 4 in the Baseball America poll.

OSU had previously been ranked No. 4 and No. 6 in the two polls, respectively.

The Beavers remained at No. 4 in the Collegiate Baseball poll.

Oregon State also climbed to No. 4 in the RPI numbers released on Tuesday. They entered the weekend at No. 6 in the NCAA's metric.

The Beavs look to be all but certain to earn one of eight national seeds and host a regional when the pairings are announced on Monday, May 27.

The selection show is slated for 9 a.m. and will be broadcast on ESPNU.

The Oregon State-Oregon rivalry looks to be growing in popularity on the national scene. "The Clemson-South Carolina rivalry is the most intense in college baseball, for our money, but the Civil War is gaining ground," says Baseball America.
