Beavs lead Cal 28-3 at half

OREGON STATE DID it on the ground in the first half -- well their scoring, anyway. OSU and Cal posted a combined 19 yards on 20 attempts in the first half, but two of those runs for the Beavs went for scores. The other two TDs were, what else, Sean Mannion scoring strikes.

It was a tight first quarter until the final minute, with the Beavs holding a 7-3 lead off a Terron Ward 1-yard plunge. Trevor Romaine missed a field goal but Sean Mannion found Caleb Smith for 14 yards to put OSU up 14-3 with nine ticks left on the clock.

In the second quarter, Brandin Cooks raced in from 14 yards out and Mannion hit Cooks later on a 34-yard score.

Mannion had over 300 yards passing by the break. Cooks had nearly 200 receiving yards.
