CORVALLIS -- It wasn't entirely unexpected given that Mike Riley said he'd have an MRI on his injured wrist. But that didn't make it any less of a blow to the midsection with news from Mike Riley that Kevin Cummings had surgery and is out indefinitely.

Mike Riley said that Kevin Cummings is out indefinitely after surgery on his wrist, and the early word was that it may translate to the rest of the regular season.

The plan going forward is for Micah Hatfield and Malik Gilmore to replace Cummings in the slot.

Cummings, a senior, had 23 catches for 254 yards and 2 TDs through eight games. He was tied for the fifth-leading receiver on the Beavs.

We'll have more on that plus our practice report a little later on today...
