Heard 'round OSU recruiting campfire

MIKE RILEY AND STAFF have spent more than a year on what will happen tomorrow – the first day prospective recruits can ink their Letters of Intent. As for what we're hearing, could there be a Signing Day surprise out there? It's sounding like it…

Mike Riley can't talk about specific recruits until after they've signed but BF.C's Chad Luther has had his ear to the ground and says he's hearing there was another recruit in Corvallis along with Kammy Delp.

We don't have a name yet, but he is a prep footballer who is returning from his LDS mission.

He would be a mid-year transfer who would count against the 2013 class. We're hearing he lines up on the defensive side of the ball. And it sounds like he committed.

Riley on Tuesday said this: "We have one more spot with a couple of possibilities. It might go down until tonight, possibly even tomorrow."

Riley said the staff met yesterday about how they were doing on the final pieces of the puzzle. He also said they have 24 guys in the fold: "We're assured that they're going to go forward with it. We would be surprised if we weren't."

Will Delp and the Mystery Man both climb on board? Will there be more beyond the max 25 signees pledging Oregon State, and therefore necessitating some delaying enrollment until next January?

All good questions that should be answered between now and sometime tomorrow!
