VERBAL: 3-star corner Dameon Baber to Beavs

DAMEON BABER, a three-star corner with offers from Oregon State, Arizona and others announced on Twitter Sunday night he has verbally committed to Mike Riley and Oregon State. Scout.com national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins in a recent article called him one of California's best cornerback prospects in this year's recruiting class.

Dameon Baber, a 5-10, 170-pounder from Palmdale, Calif. is OSU-bound.

"Dameon Baber is one of the state's top corners and impressed us at multiple events over the summer," Biggins wrote earlier this month. "We first saw him at the SoCal NIKE Camp and then later on at Oregon State's summer camp. The Beavers offered Baber following that camp."

Baber took an official visit to OSU on Sep. 29 and came away beaming but said he wasn't ready to verbally commit at that time. Less than a month later, it was time.

Baber is rated three stars and No. 106th nationally at the corner position.
