Improved Post-Game Traffic Flow Plan at OSU

OREGON STATE, the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the City of Corvallis will roll out an adjusted traffic management plan for the Beavers vs. Arizona State football game. The planning was initiated by the OSU Department of Athletics to improve traffic flow immediately after each home Beaver football game.

The plan follows a three-month comprehensive review and seeks to address post-game traffic delays around Reser Stadium with improved access to state highways leaving Corvallis. Specific roadways include Philomath Highway, the bypass bridge over the Willamette River, and signalized intersections along Highway 34 and Highway 99 West.

Several facets of the new plan include directing fans/travelers onto two eastbound lanes heading across the Willamette River via the Highway 34 bypass and improved signal operations along Highway 99W, Highway 20 and Highway 34 at numerous intersections in and around Corvallis.

“We appreciate the cooperation of our fans and travelers as we roll out these changes in traffic flow and signalization beginning Saturday,” OSU Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis said. “This is a first step in our attempt to improve the return home for all our fans, especially those heading to the Portland Metropolitan area, Salem, Bend, Southern Oregon, the coast and other areas. The plan will be reviewed following each game to continue to serve our community, loyal donors and Beaver Nation overall.”

De Carolis said the revised traffic plan also aims to improve community livability following each home game by reducing congestion, minimizing traffic on neighborhood local streets, and improving access to downtown and Corvallis area businesses and community attractions following games.

Fans are encouraged to access several public transportation options as well when attending Beaver football at Reser Stadium.

IN HONOR OFVeterans Day, OSU Athletics is setting aside 2,000 free tickets to the Arizona State game for veterans and active military as part of its BeaversSalute outreach program. Veterans/military who attend can also secure a special red-white-blue Beavers lapel pin (1,000 available) by stopping by the CH2m Hill Alumni Association located across from Reser Stadium.
