OSU's Sean Mannion accepts Senior Bowl invite

OREGON STATE senior quarterback Sean Mannion has accepted an invitation to the Reese’s Senior Bowl where he'll look to improve on his draft stock. NFLdraftscout.com currently pegs Mannion as a 6th-7th round pick. Mannion is rated as the No. 10 quarterback by ESPN

Sean Mannion will also be looking to secure his invite to the NFL combine. While some invites have been announced by players themselves, the official invitee list will be posted during the first week of February.

The Senior Bowl will air on the NFL Network Sat., Jan. 24 at 1 p.m. PST from Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala.

Mannion was a four-year starter for the Beavers from 2011-14 and set virtually every passing record in Oregon State history and became the most prolific passer in Pac-12 history this season with 13,600 career passing yards.

Mannion twice earned Pac-12 Conference Honorable Mention. He threw for 83 touchdowns to set the OSU career record and ranks seventh in Pac-12 history and finished with a 64.6 career completion percentage, also an OSU school record.

The Pleasanton, Calif. native was rated as the No. 2 senior quarterback in America by ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. back in June but Kiper had dropped him to No. 8 as of his most recent positional rankings in December.

Mannion will be the second OSU passer to play in the Senior Bowl joining Sean Canfield, who was drafted by the New Orleans Saints following the 2009 season.
