Wisconsin 3-star DT verbal tripping to OSU

A WISCONSIN VERBAL COMMIT is tripping to Oregon State this weekend. Three-star defensive tackle prospect Elu Aydon checks in at 6-3, 315-pounds. And this one has all the makings of a recruiting battle royale between Oregon State and Wisconsin.

A prep source tells BF.C that Elu Aydon is about 50-50 right now between Oregon State and Wisconsin. With the official visit to Oregon State this weekend, he is now classified as a soft verbal on Scout.com.

Aydon’s area recruiter at Wisconsin was Chad Kauaha’aha’a and they formed a very tight bond.

But Kauaha’aha’a is at Oregon State with Gary Andersen now.

And Andersen has said from the get-go, and told Wisconsin AD Barry Alvarez, that if the verbal commitment to him while he was at Wisconsin was more a relationship-based commit to the coaches than about the prospect committing to the school, then Andersen was going to recruit that player and try to get him to come to Oregon State.

. An under-the-radar prospect from Leone High in Pago Pago, American Samoa, Aydon verbally committed to Andersen and Kauaha’aha’a at Wisconsin over offers from Colorado, Hawaii and Nevada. Now the Beavs have jumped in.

Aydon has some rawness to his game as most American Samoa prospects do -- but he has that natural power and explosiveness schools look for in a d-tackle.

He’s a guy who can occupy o-linemen and eat up space.

And although he’s already 315-pounds, he has the frame to add more when he gets into a college weight program and training table..
