Oregon State Trio Headed for NFL Combine

RECORD-SETTING quarterback Sean Mannion as well as cornerback Steven Nelson and defensive end Obum Gwacham have been invited to the NFL Combine in Indianapolis later this month.

Sean Mannion was a four-year starter for the Beavers from 2011-14. He set virtually every passing record in Oregon State history and became the most prolific thrower in Pac-12 Conference annals with 13,600 career yards. Mannion, who twice earned Pac-12 Conference Honorable Mention, also tossed a school record 83 touchdown passes.

Steven Nelson lettered two years for the Beavers after joining the program prior to the 2013 season from the College of the Sequoias, where he earned All-Northern California Football Association honors. The Warner Robins, Ga., native was a Pac-12 Conference Second Team selection following last season after earning honorable mention in 2013. His two-year Beaver career included 122 total tackles, eight interceptions and 16 pass breakups.

Obum Gwacham played his first season at defensive end last year after previously being a wide receiver. For his defensive career, which also included serving on special teams, he made 37 tackles. He made 10 receptions as a wide receiver. Gwacham was a member of Pac-12 all-academic teams three times and earned numerous leadership accolades during his career.

The Combine airs on the NFL Network Feb. 17-23.
