RECRUITING: Beavs with a late OL addition

OREGON STATE WELCOMED 22 players back on February's Signing Day. But the signing period runs through April 1, and Oregon State added a new addition by inking No. 23, Oregon State announced on Monday. Los Angeles Harbor Community College offensive lineman Leo Fuimaono chose OSU over offers from Utah, BYU, South Florida, Colorado State and UTEP.

Leo Fuimaono, a 6-foot-3, 305-pounder, will join the Beaver program for summer workouts in June with three to play two.

He visited Corvallis this past weekend. The addition bumps to five the number of o-linemen in Gary Andersen's first class: Fuimaono, Blake Brandel, Miki Fifita, Zach Lucas and Brayden Kearsley (though Kearsley as a transfer from BYU will have to sit out the 2015 season per NCAA rules).

Fuimaono played on both the offensive and defensive lines in junior college and was also the team's long snapper.

As a projected offensive lineman, he will help make up for the loss of Grant Bays and Garrett Weinreich, who both medically retired before spring practice began last week.

Fuimaono attended Torrance High School where he made 110 tackles over his final two varsity seasons, including 10 sacks.
