Beavers add new GA

OREGON STATE has earlier this offseason beaten out Utah for assistant coaches and recruits. On Thursday they added another new piece in the form of Kameron Yancy, Utah's quality control coach the past three seasons.

Gary Andersen made the announcement in a release on Thursday, with Yancy becoming an OSU graduate assistant coach on defense.

Yancy replaces Cory Hall, who was named to his post at OSU on Jan. 28 but who has since "accepted a football position at another university," according to the release.

Yancy, a Los Angeles native, was a two-year letterman defensive back (2009-10), playing OSU defensive coordinator Kalani Sitake during his Utah tenure and appearing in 14 games. Yancy transferred to Utah from Pierce Junior College in Los Angeles, where he was an all-conference honoree.

Yancy played his high school football at Fairfax in Los Angeles, earning all-league honors at cornerback.
