OSU Recruiting Notebook: Tracking Beav offers

YOU WOULD EXPECT Oregon State to delve deeply into California when it comes to recruiting – the Golden State has always been the primary OSU football pipeline. And given the coaching staff’s ties, it’s no surprise Florida and Utah are well represented when it comes to known Oregon State offers. Another state, however, is one BeavFans might not have considered.

Texas.

The Beavs have 10 known offers out to Texas recruits – the same number as Utah.

California dwarfs everyone as expected, where 36 of Oregon State’s 87 known offers reside.

Florida boasts the second-largest number of Oregon State offers, with 13.

Florida, along with California and Texas, are far and away where the most FBS talent comes from in each recruiting class on the national level.

The Beavs have several coaches with considerable ties to Utah, including Gary Andersen, but the sheer number of FBS prospects in Florida is greater. One of the top storylines in the 2016 class will be just how effective Telly Lockette, OSU’s primary point man for Florida, is this recruiting cycle.

Oregon State has offered three known in-state prospects: LB Lamar Winston (Portland, Central Catholic); TE Cam McCormick (Bend, Summit) and S Ronnie Rust (Portland, Central Catholic).

Other states with Oregon State offerees:
Arizona: 4
Washington: 2
Hawaii: 2
Nevada: 1
Georgia: 1
North Carolina: 1
Missouri: 1
