VERBAL: Beavs score 6-3 Florida safety

RECRUITING MOVES FAST - a prospect is talking about his summer visit plans to various schools one day and the next he makes his verbal pledge. Oregon State has picked up its second 2016 class verbal in 6-foot-3 safety Devon Clarke,'s Corey Bender reports, continuing to prime the Beavs' new state of Florida pipeline.

Devon Clarke, out of Kissimmee's Osceola High, had a good showing this past weekend at the Adidas Sound Mind Sound Body in Florida. He already had his OSU offer in hand prior to the camp, as well as one from Tulane and was gaining increased interest from Florida, Wisconsin and Colorado.

He was taking an unofficial to Florida on Monday afternoon but it's unclear if he took that trip or not.

"Clarke still has to do his homework on Gary Andersen's program out of the Pac-12, but they remain a realistic landing destination cruising into the spring evaluation period," Bender wrote shortly before Clarke told him he was committed to the Beavs. It must not have taken very long to do the homework.
