Verbal: OSU-Florida pipeline still flowing
Where Marlon Eugene would line up in college was previously unknown, different teams liked him at either linebacker or receiver.
But Oregon State, Eugene told Scout.com's Corey Bender, likes him on defense at linebacker.
Eugene is the fourth known verbal from Florida in OSU's 2016 class, joining CB Jadarius Byrd, WR Javonte Ferguson and RB Artavis Pierce.
"He's a hard-nosed defender who plays with tons of physicality and athleticism, while showcasing reliable hands and strong route running ability at receiver," said Bender.
"I do see myself playing wide receiver, so that's what really interested me about them. I am more comfortable and I feel like I make more plays at wide receiver, but it's not a problem to play offense or defense in college," said Eugene back in May.
It didn't take long for Eugene to learn about the Beavs and make his decision.
"I wouldn't say I know too much about the Beavers, but I know they're in a good conference in the Pac-12," Eugene said a month ago. "I first heard about them when Brandin Cooks came out of Oregon State. They're a great school."
