OSU's Barrs-Woods named to Maxwell watch list

OREGON STATE senior running back Storm Barrs-Woods has been named to the watch list for the 79th annual Maxwell Award, presented to the nation’s top college football player, the school said in a release.

Barrs-Woods, who has changed his name to honor his mother, has compiled 2,183 career rushing yards in his Beaver career to rank seventh in school history.

The human development and family sciences major also has 3,115 all-purpose yards to rank 13th in Beaver history. He is on the cusp of joining Jacquizz Rodgers (2008-10) as the only OSU players to reach the 2,000-yard rushing and 1,000-yard receiving plateaus.

The Pflugerville, Texas native has started a team-high 31 career games and rushed for over 100 yards in a game six times. He also has 111 career receptions, fourth historically among Beaver running backs.

Semifinalists for the Maxwell Award will be announced November 2, with the three finalists unveiled November 23. The winners of the 2015 Maxwell Award will be announced as part of the Home Depot College Football Awards Show held December 10.
