Commit Capsule: Travis Mackay

Coach Gary Andersen has made recruiting the top talent in Oregon a priority, which is why adding the commitment of Portland (Oregon) Central Catholic offensive lineman Travis Mackay to the mix was a big step in the re-building process.

Commit Capsule: Travis Mackay

Position: Offensive Line

Hometown: Portland, Oregon

Height: 6-feet-6

Weight: 280

Mackay has been on Coach TJ Woods' radar for quite some time.  Not only is Woods the offensive line coach, he also is the area recruiter for Oregon prospects.  He plays with a mean streak and has a good first step and is only getting bigger and stronger.  Mackay chose Oregon State over offers from Cal, Nevada and Wyoming.

Mackay is a longer lineman, a lot like current Beav lineman and former Central Catholic tackle Blake Brandel.  He had a good day at The Opening Seattle and looks like he’s filling out.  Mackay projects to be a right tackle in college.
