- 1st year as starter
- Part of the 2014 class
- Yanni Demogerontas is a relative unknown. He was injured last year early on and wasn’t able to contribute much.
- Yanni has shown that he is consistent snapping the ball and has taken a majority of the first team reps this fall.
- The Minnesota game will be the first time he has stepped on the field for the Beavers in any capacity. It is a huge stage for his first game against some really good defenisve tackles. While I have no critique of his technique or mentality playing, every play from here on out is an opportunity for him.
As the fall camp has shuffled a lot of bodies around, Yanni has been a pretty consistent presence in the middle of the line. This offense requires a ton of communication from the center and that is a big task for a first year starter. The Minnesota game looms as a big challenge for Yanni, but it also is a good opportunity for the Beavers in that he is a redshirt sophomore and can be a 3 year starter at a very important position for the Beavers. The better Yanni does the better the future beyond 2016 looks for the Orange and Black. Especially with so many people graduating in the next two years.
