Oregon State head coach Gary Andersen and offensive line coach T.J. Woods were on hand Friday night as two Oregon State commits opened up their season. David Morris, Josh Bowcut and the Sherwood Bowmen hosted Westview, and while the game went into overtime with Westview taking the 27-21 win.
Morris was electric, scoring all three of the Bowmen touchdowns.
"I had 16 carries for 200 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns," Morris said. "I also had two receptions for 80 yards and one touchdown. On defense I had five total tackles."
Bowcut, a defensive end had a sack and a 'couple tackles for loss'.
Having Andersen and Woods on the sidelines was special for both players.
"I loved it," Morris said. "Always a few jitters knowing that he was coming, but I overcame them and did what I had to do."
"Yeah, looking over to the sidelines and seeing him there was pretty cool."
The Bowmen travel to Camas, Washington this week and the Oregon State coaches will be on the road yet again as the Beavers have their bye week early this season.
