JC Safety adds Oregon State offer

Oregon State continues to search the country for prospects on the recruiting trail that can help them get better, including Mississippi.

We don't hear about Oregon State hitting Mississippi often for recruits, but that may be about to change as the Beavers have extended offers to two players at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Mississippi. Defensive end Marques Ford and safety Ramon Patton both earned Oregon State offers recently as the Beavers look to continually build on their defense.

BeaverBlitz caught up with Patton to get his initial thoughts on the Beavers.

"I was very happy about this offer and I haven't really talked about a visit yet but I want too (set it up)," Patton said.

Patton, a December grad, has double digit offers from programs such as Utah, SMU, Tulsa, Utah State among others.  While he doesn't have a top list yet, three stood out as of today.

"I haven't really decided yet, but if I had to choose by today it would be Colorado State, Utah, and Oregon State," he said.

The 6-foot-1, 210 pound safety is big and physical and likes contact. All attributes which would suit him well in the PAC 12.

Patton promised to keep BeaverBlitz updated on his recruitment and when he sets his visits.
