Visit Report: Fortenberry has praise for OSU trip

It was the biggest recruiting weekend of the season so far and junior college cornerback Deante Fortenberry spoke to BeaverBlitz about his visit.

As Corvallis continues to rock following the Beavers momentum building victory over the California Golden Bears, Deante Fortenberry has a lot to think about as he departs Oregon State following his official visit. BeaverBlitz caught up with him as he was boarding a plane back to San Francisco to get his thoughts on the victory last night and his time in Corvallis.

"It was real nice being up there at Oregon State this weekend, I loved it," he said.  "Xavier Crawford was my host, so it was cool to be with him since we went to school together. My highlight was being able to be down on the field with the team after the game, celebrating with the players and everything. It was really nice and I enjoyed that."

While the game and the big win were definitely the highlights of his trip, Deante also got to spend some time developing relationships with the academic part of being a future student athlete.

"I met with the academic advisors and then some people from Beyond Football. It sounds like a really nice program that helps the guys connect with people off the football field. I liked how they tried to set you up to succeed."

It sounds like Deante enjoyed his time at Oregon State, both on-and-off the field. Stay with BeaverBlitz as we continue to get in touch with the rest of the official visitors from this weekend as the Beavers' staff looks to continue to Build the Dam.
