Defensive Points + MVP's: Washington State

Who led the way for the Oregon State defense? Time to take a look at the defensive points and grades from the Washington State game.

For the second week in a row, senior linebacker Caleb Saulo earned the Giant Killer MVP Award.  Saulo finished the game with seven tackles, two pass break-ups, a quarterback hurry and a fumble recovery. Bright Ugwoegbu also added seven tackles, including two sacks, while true freshman Andrzej Hughes-Murray scored big with his blocked kick and Manase HungaluJonathan Willis, and Shemiah Unutoa-Whitson all added 12 tackles for the Beaver defense.

Redshirt freshman safety Jalen Moore earned his first MVP Award of his young career, just narrowly missing the Giant Killer Award by a quarter point.  Moore led the team in tackles, forced a fumble and had a pass break-up. As expected against the Cougars, the secondary was very active, especially the safeties. Devin Chappell and Brandon Arnold added 16 tackles, with Chappell forcing a fumble and recovering a fumble.

The defensive line was led by Baker Pritchard who had three tackles. It was a relatively quiet day for the defensive line statistically, with Paisa Savea and Sumner Houston each adding a tackle against the Cougars.

Congratulations to this week's MVP honorees.
