Film Session: Kolby Taylor

BeaverBlitz continues to break down the film of the newest signees. Today we take a closer look at wide receiver Kolby Taylor.

On the Hoof: Well built at 5'11" and 185 pounds. Returning from a broken left tibia that forced him to miss his senior year. Close to being back at full speed. Will probably be in non-contact protocol for first part of spring ball as he continues to test his leg as he recovers from 2nd leg injury in two years.

2015 Statistics:  69 receptions for 879 yards & 10 TDs. 16 rushes for 57 yards & 6 TDs. 92 yard KOR for TD.

Evaluation: Was ranked as the #1 wide receiver in the state of Arizona prior to his senior year & 16th in the West region. Can take the lid off and really stretch the field. Works well in tight areas, ability to both make people miss and run through arm tackles. Has elite speed and acceleration. Can work on the outside or in the slot. Compact and strong. Good balance, can run fly sweep, reads blockers well. Great vision in seeing running lanes and reading blocks.

Comparison: Taller James Rodgers

Strengths: Speed & Burst, Soft Hands, Strength, Vision

Areas to Improve: Road to Recovery
