OSU Baseball #5 in preseason poll

The Oregon State baseball team checks in at #5 on the Collegiate Baseball preseason rankings.

Coach Pat Casey and the Oregon State baseball team continue to prepare for what looks to be an exciting 2017 season.  On Tuesday Collegiate Baseball ranked the Beavers fifth nationally in its preseason top 40.

TCU tops the list with 496 points, followed by LSU (494), Florida (491) and South Carolina (489).  The Beavers (485) are joined by Pac-12 opponents #7 Arizona (480), #21 Washington (445). #24 Stanford (438), and #25 Arizona State (435).

The Beavers return seven starters from last season and two of their starting pitchers. Pitcher Bryce Fehmel and catcher/first baseman KJ Harrison were named to the preseason All-American team by Collegiate Baseball on Monday. 

Oregon State opens the 2017 season in Surprise, Arizona on February 17 in the Sanderson Ford Collegiate Baseball Classic.
