Master List: Defense

Oregon State coaches are in the dead period of recruiting until early January. It is a great time to take stock of where the Beavers are in terms of defensive recruits as we near the sprint to signing day.

Update:  Decommitted on Dec. 21, but has a four team group of leaders including: OSU, BYU, Utah, and Utah State.  End of the day, he's taking a mission and is a ceremonial signing.

Commit: Teammate of Beaver commits Jeffrey Manning and Arex Flemings, Echols is committed to USC, but will visit Oregon State in January.

Lolohea has an Oregon State offer, but has Utah, BYU and Washington high on his list at the moment.

Recruitment has been fairly quiet, but look for him to line up visits in January.

Currently he has visited Georgia Tech and USC, with plans to check out Navy, Vanderbilt and possibly Oregon.  The Beavers may be on the outside looking in at this point, but things can change quickly in January.

Commit--Ceremonial Signing: Bowcut is committed to Oregon State, but is planning to take a two year church mission. He will sign ceremonial paperwork and will not count against the signing limit.

Commit-Signed: Evans is one of the cornerstone athletes of the 2017 class. Huge pick up for the Beavers defensive front.

Pili has moved back to Alaska to finish out high school.  He has visited Oregon State and USC. He will visit Ole Miss and Washington in January.

Falaniko is currently committed to USC, but took a trip to Oregon State earlier in the month. He has said he will be a signing day decision.

UCLA may be the team to beat for Johnson, but Johnson has visited Oregon State and enjoyed the trip. He is definitely an impact player.

Green decommitted from USC earlier in December.  The Beavers have been in the mix since the beginning, but will face a lot of competition for the inside linebacker from Portland.

Aleki's recruitment has been fairly quiet during the season, but is expected to be busy in January. Oregon State, Hawaii, UNLV and San Jose State are his current offers.

Commit: Morris is an athletic safety/linebacker hybrid who fits in Clune's defensive scheme perfectly. He's rangy and fast and hits with pop.  He will sign in February.

The Beavs seemed out of the running a month ago, but a close friendship with signee Isaiah Hodgins, re-opened the door.  Cotton will visit Oregon State in January.

Watson has visited Oregon State and BYU, but still has Washington State and Hawaii in the mix.

Commit: Manning is solid with Oregon State and will sign in February.

Commit: Garder is 100% with the Beavers and will sign in February.

Commit: Hayes is committed to OSU and plans to sign with the Beavers in February.

The one time Washington State commit opened up his recruitment following a visit to Corvallis.  The Beavers are still in play and a decision could come at any time.

Update: With Jaylon Lane deciding to stay home, the Beavers are looking to add a JC corner to the mix.  Crumbie is planning a visit to Oregon State in January, where the Beavers hope to flip him from his Fresno State commitment.

Guidry opened up his recruitment and the Beavers may be the benefactors of a January visit.  Definitely a name to keep in the back of your mind next month.
