Olympia (Washington) Timberline athlete Jaelen Bush was on his way to a basketball shoot around when BeaverBlitz reached him. The 6-foot-7, 220 pounder excels not only on the hardwood, but on the gridiron and classroom as well. He confirmed that he will be making an official visit to Oregon State this weekend.
"I visited Oregon State over the summer and loved it," he said.
Bush is also a standout in the classroom. He currently has over a 3.9 GPA and he's enrolled in the Running Start program through South Kitsap Community College. When he finishes high school in June, he will also have his AA degree and a major jump on college coursework completed.
He plans to study Engineering and has already applied at Oregon State.
The kicker...Bush currently does not have a football scholarship offer at Oregon State.
"I really want to get that offer," he said. "It is expensive, especially out of state tuition, so we'll have to see."
Bush is also excited to see the campus when classes are in session and people are on campus. And seeing a basketball game will be great too.
Bush has received interest from Washington State, Central Washington, Wyoming, and several DIII schools along with Oregon State. While he is a three sport athlete and excels at basketball, he said that he has no plans to play two sports in college.
He confirmed that Central Washington has offered him a scholarship.
He vowed to keep BeaverBlitz updated after his visit on Sunday.
