May War Room: Defensive Tackles

With one defensive tackle already committed, it is time to take a look at a few other DT prospects that BeaverBlitz has on the May War Room.

The Beavers are in good shape recruiting defensive tackles with an early commitment from Isaac Hodgins.  Playing a base 3-4 takes some of the pressure off of recruiting big d-tackles, however it is always imperative to have youth in the wings that has the needed size and strength to progress through the system.

Commitment Level: Hodgins should be considered completely solid with Oregon State and plans to enroll in January 2018.

Offers: Arizona, BYU, Cal, Colorado, Utah, Oregon State

BeaverBlitz Notes: Manoa came out with his top five which included the above named schools, but he stated that the new Oregon State offer also intrigued him and that he wanted to keep things open, even after naming a top five. Oregon State could definitely garner a visit from Manoa if they stay on him and his recruitment.

Offers: ASU, Boise St., BYU, Cal, Fresno, Michigan, Ohio St., Oregon State, Oregon, Penn St., UCLA, TCU, USC, Vanderbilt, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Washington St., Wisconsin

BeaverBlitz Notes: Long shot for the Beavs at this point. His childhood favorite school was USC, and he is excited about his Washington offer as well, which he said is his leader right now.  UCLA and others have been pushing hard, but USC and Washington still appear to be Togiai's leaders.

Offers: Oregon State

BeaverBlitz Notes: The Beavers have a good relationship with Salt Lake City (Utah) East, which could help with the recruiting of Heimuli.  He's been overshadowed by teammate Paul Maile, but has good size already for a prep tackle prospect (already 280). It would be quite a trifecta to land Heimuli, Maile and former teammate/returning missionary Christian Folau.  Oregon State remains his only offer, but many programs are keeping tabs on him this spring.

Offers: Arizona, Boise, BYU, Cal, Colorado, Fresno, Georgia Tech, Oregon State, Pennsylvania, Princeton, Utah, Utah State, Vanderbilt, Washington State, Wisconsin

BeaverBlitz Notes: Maile  has added a few new offers to get him to 15.  He will camp at Stanford in hopes of earning an offer and he has mentioned wanting to visit Wisconsin as well.

Offers: None

BeaverBlitz Notes: Pressley already has ideal size at 6-foot-4, 330, but is a bit of an unknown because he has been sidelined with injuries much of last season.  If he can stay healthy and get off to a good start this fall, offers should fall into place.  He has been in contact with all four Northwest PAC 12 programs.

Offers: Boise St., Michigan St., Navy, Nevada, Princeton, UNLV, Utah, Vanderbilt, Washington

BeaverBlitz Notes: Utah defensive lineman who has Utah and Michigan State high on his list.  Many Blitzer's will remember his cousin Mufi Hunt, who came down to Oregon State and Michigan State.  He chose the Spartans.  His other cousin is former USC Trojan, Sua Cravens.  Washington just offered and Cravens is excited about the Huskies offer.  He plans to take visits before making a decision.

Offers: UCLA, Arizona, Utah and Fresno

BeaverBlitz Notes: At 6-foot-3, 310 pounds Liu already has good size to play tackle for the Beavers, and he has already picked up offers from three PAC 12 programs. Oregon State has seen great success recruiting Northern California and the Polynesian community at Oregon State is very close knit, especially among the defensive linemen. Definitely a player to watch on the BeaverBlitz board.
