Euhus, Seigler to play in Shrine game

Beaver fans will receive one more opportunity to see tight end Tim Euhus and all-time OSU defensive points leader Richard Seigler as they suit up Saturday, January 10 for the East/West Shrine game at 11:00 AM in Pacific Bell Park.

The 79th annual college football all-star contest is played in honor of the children at Shriner's Hospitals around the nation. To date, the game has raised $14 million.

Euhus and Seigler will arrive in San Francisco on January 3 for the introduction dinner that evening. Throughout the week the players will participate in several activities including a cruise, a visit to a hospital and a dinner with the 49ers coaches where Euhus and Seigler will be reunited with Dennis Erickson.

"I think it's going to be a pretty exciting week going down there," Euhus told  "Obviously, I'll be going up against some of the best players in the country. Rich (Richard Seigler) is going to be on my team, so that'll be a lot of fun hanging out with him - it'll be exciting. But it'll be a challenge, that's for sure. There's great talent there."

Most practices will be held at Pac Bell park and are open to the public. The sensational seniors will be coached by UNLV head coach John Robinson while the East will be under the tutelage of Pittsburgh's Walt Harris.

Fifteen Pac-10 players, including Oregon's Keith Lewis, will join Euhus and Seigler on the West squad. Beaver 2003 oppoents Fresno State, Sacramento State, and Boise State also placed players on the West team.
