Tournament News

Oregon State enters Saturday's game controlling its own destiny for inclusion in the eight-team Pac-10 Conference Tournament March 11-13 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The Beavers and Washington State are tied for eighth with 6-11 records heading into the final game of the season Saturday.

The Beavers would earn the tiebreaker edge since they defeated WSU twice this season. OSU would be left out of the tournament only if it loses to USC Saturday and WSU wins at home over California. The Beavers will know exactly what they have to do by tipoff, as Cal at WSU tip at 2 p.m. The Beavers could actually finish tied for sixth.

G 33 Desmon Farmer (6-4, 225) - big-time scorer...fiery defensive player...energizes his team and the fans with his intense of USC's 35.2 minutes is averaging 19.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game...shooting .399 from the field, .354 from three point range and a team best .779 from the free throw line...has started 25 games this season, played in all 26...scored 14 points on 4 of 9 shooting while also adding five rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes against Oregon State.

F 22 Errick Craven (6-2, 190) - active on the offensive and defensive end of the court...decent outside shooter...has a quick first step and quick hands...hustles the entire game...good rebounder...was suspended against Oregon and did not play on Thursday...averaging 10.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, a team leading 2.4 steals and 2.9 assists in 28.0 minutes per game...shooting .397 from the field, .256 from downtown, and .616 from the charity stripe...has the most fouls on the team with 83, also has the most turnovers with 71...has fouled out of six games this 26 minutes scored nine points and dished out three assists versus the Beavers in California.

C 21 Rory O'Neil (6-11, 240) - heady player with a good feel for the game...solid scoring touch from the inside and outside...has good court vision...quick for his size...has started 19 games, played in all 26...shooting .457 from the field, a team best .373 from the three point line, and .684 from the line...averaging 8.6 points and 3.7 rebounds...scored 18 points on 7 of 10 shooting, including 3 of 4 from downtown, in 25 minutes against Oregon State.

F 4 Gregg Guenther Jr. (6-8, 245) - also plays for the football team as a tight end...physical, strong post player...started three contests, played in 14...averaging 6.0 points and 4.7 rebounds in 18.1 minutes per game...shooting .448 from the field and .727 from the 16 minutes scored seven points and dished out two assists against OSU in California.

F 2 Nick Curtis (6-8, 220) - strong rebounder...decent shot blocker...has battled injuries for the majority of his college 13.6 minutes in averaging 3.3 points and 2.8 rebounds...started three games, played in 20...shooting .511 from the field, .250 from three point land, and .567 from the free throw line...was injured and did not play against the Beavers in January.

News from the Latest Trojan Game

Oregon's Luke Jackson scored 18 of his 20 points in the second half as the Ducks rallied to defeat USC 75-70 on Thursday.

Jackson made 6-of-11 shots in the seconds half and also grabbed 13 rebounds. The senior became the first player in school history with three 500-point seasons. James Davis added 19 points off the bench for Oregon, while Andre Joseph scored 17...Trojans Turned Away at Oregon

  • The Trojans and Beavers have split the last six contests.

  • Under Henry Bibby the Trojans are 4-3 in Corvallis.
