Borg recently took a trip with his high school coach Gary Minor to Tucson to
meet with the University of Arizona head coach Bob Stoops and check out the
"I really liked him," said Borg, who is rated the fourth best prospect in Arizona by 24-7football.com. "I really like the UA strength and conditioning program. Everything was real nice.
"It was neat to see all of it. The fact that the defensive tackle from Oklahoma (Tommie Harris) is training in Tucson with those coaches, when he could be anywhere, really says something about what they have going on."
Despite the high praise and having lived in Tucson for the majority of his life, Borg currently lists his top three schools as Oregon State, Stanford and Washington; the three schools that are showing him the most interest. Other schools he likes include UCLA, Nebraska, and Cal.
"I have never been a die-hard UA fan," he said. "but I have watched a lot of their football and basketball games."
Borg says his family has no preference on where he attends school and will attend the school that fits him the best.
"They are not putting any pressure on me. The decision is up to me," said Borg who currently has a 4.1 GPA and scored an 1180 on his SAT in January. "They just want me to go somewhere where there is a good football program and I can get a good education."
This summer he plans on attending the Arizona, Stanford and Washington teams camps in addition to the Palo Alto or Eugene Nike camp. He is also interested in attending more Pac-10 team camps if time allows.
"I think I have good feet and am athletic for my size," Borg said. " I think I am a better pass blocker than a run blocker at this point, but I am working on it."
Borg is the type of offensive lineman the Beavers are looking for. The coaches want big boys that can get out and run. Look for the coaches to stay with Borg and try to land him early as he probably wants to get out of the state of Arizona.
