Remember 1996...

Reacquaint yourself with Beaver football players of the past as we take a look at some of the players from the 1996 squad. <br><br> Cornerback Andrae Holland was just a sophomore in '96, but was already one of the top defensive backs in the Pac-10. TB Akili King transferred from West Point and added a bruising attack to the Beavers wishbone offense.

Andrae started all 11 games at left cornerback for OSU as a redshirt freshman in 1995. He participated in a total of 817 plays. He was honored as the end of the season by being named to the Pac-10 All-Academic team.

Andrae was sixth in defensive points with 193 and he had three interceptions and nine pass breakups during his rookie season. He will be on of the top defensive backs in the Pac-10 in 1996.


Akili King

Akili transferred to Oregon State in 1995 from West Point where he had been a three-year starter for the Cadets. Although he missed half of Army's games in three years due to injuries, he still rushed for 1,468 yards and scored 78 points.

He is tremendously strong and has 4.5 speed. Akili will be the Beaver's starting tailback in 1996 and he has the potential to win many honors as a senior.
