DE Inoke Breckterfield was making a run at a few OSU defensive records while TE Joe Kuykendall looked to start another starting streak after injuring his knee in 1997.

Inoke is a preseason All-American candidate and he was OSU's MVP last year after earning second-team All-Pac-10 honors.

He ranks sixth on the Beavers' career defensive point list. He holds the OSU career record for tackles for loss with 40.5 for 169 yards lost. He has 12.5 career sacks and he has 24 career quarterback hurries, both close to Beaver career records.

Joe will enter his senior year having started 19 of 28 games that he has participated in at OSU. He missed the final three games of his junior year with a knee sprain that halted a 19-game starting streak.

He has caught 18 passes for 169 yards and 1 touchdown in his career to date. In addition to his receiving ability, Joe is an excellent blocker.
