Edison High School CB/FS Robert Peele (Fresno, CA) has a total of seven offers currently and is receiving a lot of interest from major D1-A Schools. He's a 5'11 180 pound prospect who is off to an absolutely amazing start with his high school team. He currently has thirty-four tackles, one INT, one forced fumble, and two pass deflections.
Peele came into this season ranked by TheInsiders.com as the #12 ranked CB/FS
recruit in the country as well as being a member of TheInsiders.com West Hot
100 Team. As a junior last season, he sported eighty-six tackles, two interceptions,
and was named first team all-league and valley. He also was a second team all-state
underclass selection. Currently, Robert is on pace to shatter his numbers from
last season and his team is currently 2-1 on the young season. Here are his
thoughts on OSU and his interest in the Beavers.
Robert currently has seven offers coming from California, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, Washington State, and Washington. USC and Stanford are the only Pac-10 Schools that haven't offered him a scholarship.
"If I had to choose my top five schools right now, I would pick Oregon State, Arizona, Washington, USC, and California," he said. Keep in mind that USC hasn't officially offered him a scholarship but he does have interest in USC.
In regards to his visits that he has set up, "I currently have no visits set
up as of right now," he said, but one would think since OSU is in his top five
that he would be making a visit to the Oregon State campus.
Robert is officially qualified GPA wise and will be taking the SAT in October. "I currently carry a 2.8 GPA and I feel good about my chances on the SAT when I take it in October," he said.
Robert is currently being recruited by OSU Defensive Coordinator/Secondary Coach Mark Banker. Robert said, "I like his style of play and his hardnosed attitude." Albeit that Peele has been offered a scholarship by OSU, he said he hasn't really had a chance to talk to OSU head coach Mark Riley personally.
Robert has attended three football camps as well. "I have attended the USC Camp, Nike Combine, and Fresno State camp," he said.
Getting a commit from a player of the caliber of Robert Peele would be absolutely fantastic for the 2005 OSU Recruiting Class. The OSU coaching sstaff is hot on his trail and there's no doubt that they'll be trying to get a visit from this impact player.
Peele would add a lot of strength to the Beaver secondary and when you're in
the high flying Pac-10 Conference, you can never have enough good cornerbacks.
Will he be a Beaver come February 4th? Only time will tell.
